Ms. Caplan began her career serving as Law Secretary to the late, Honorable Arthur C. Dwyer, Superior Court of New Jersey, Equity Division. In 1987 she relocated to Baltimore where she practiced as an associate at two large Baltimore City law firms. During that time Ms. Caplan concentrated her efforts on family law litigation, leading to her interest and philosophical belief in separation and divorce mediation as the preferable alternative to resolve all issues relating to divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, alimony and division of property and debts.and legal separation. She volunteers her services for the mediation program of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Office of the District Courts of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Family Law Section, and the Association of the Conflict Resolution.
